Global Students for Sustainability (GloSS) is a student organization in Gothenburg working with sustainability with a focus on social sustainability.

 

We understand social sustainability as striving for

• Building bridges

• Peace and security making

for all human beings

 

Our vision is, through a global focus and local actions and with an intersectional perspective, to:

 

• Help all segments of society to connect and learn about social sustainability

• Create a bridge from theory to practice

• Raise awareness about and increase social sustainability

I'm a bubbly sustainababbling person who loves spending my time thinking of and acting to make this place a better one. Besides studying my third year at the Bachelor program of Global studies, I love cooking and eating food from the plant kingdom, riding my bicycle around the most beautiful city I've ever lived in (that's Gothenburg of course), and boosting my engagement and inspiration doing sustainability stuff!

If you see a person jumping around from one class to the other that’s probably me, because I find it more fun then just walking from one place to the other! I’m studying the bachelor in Global Studies and I’m interested in social sustainability, gender questions and trying to understand other people. My thought is that if we understand people better then we could change their behavior and the world!

I would like to describe myself as a most often quite glad human animal who is a big fan of other animals, equality and sustainability. I may sometimes seem a little confused or absent minded but possess the odd ability to see structure and order in complete chaos. I am in the midst of my Global Studies bachelor with a focus on anthropology which I hope will prove helpful to my future engagements and attempts to make sense of the world we share.

Whenever you don't find me studying (for my Bachelor in Global studies) or doing a some voluntary work you will for sure find me rock climbing, salsa dancing or riding my bike around the city. I LOVE to use my physical power. I am actually pretty strong; which, often seem to leave me with a lot of extra energy; which some how have made me often be recognized as a little bit over social individual.  Speaking of social. There is a lot we can do to make the world more sustainable socially!
