This week GloSS, together with other students and student sustainability groups, is celebrating Climate Awareness Week. Especially now, under the historical UN climate conference (COP21) in Paris, we should discuss about and act upon also the global societal effects of the climate change. Climate change is threatening the global ecosystem services such as food and water, in which human wellbeing is highly dependent on. Floods, draughts and decrease in natural resources hit hardest on people who might not have the same tools to adapt environmental crisis as the ‘developed’ countries.
By organizing this week, students sustainability groups in Gothenburg would like to draw attention to these various issues, raise discussion and encourage people to act against climate change. GloSS was proud to start the week by organizing a climate run for students. Relay started at Calmers library and went through different university campuses in Gothenburg. Despite the minus degrees the event was successful and runners happy with a little more active lunch break.

If you have time, please come and join the GSSA sign and poster workshop tomorrow. And yes, you should definitely come to march with us at ‘Klimatsamling’ climate manifestation on Sunday!
